Program Request

The Caterpillar Lab is…metamorphosing!

Just like our favorite New England animals, our organization continues to grow and change as the seasons and years pass. Throughout 2025, communities just like yours experienced one of our biggest years yet, with over 80 unique programs and exhibits delivered across the northeast, including more than 20 free programs and exhibits (and that’s not even counting our local in-house events, research, arts and other media we’ve been involved with!). Have you heard the buzz of excitement surrounding our native caterpillars, plants, and the people who champion them building this year?!

All this excitement leads to one big question: how will The Caterpillar Lab continue to serve and support our local insect and human communities in the coming years? Read on to find out!

Programs

Just like in 2025, the current demand for our 2026 programs and exhibits outpaces our current capacity!

  • Caterpillar finding, rearing, photographing, fundraising, program planning, exhibit constructing, program delivering, moth lighting, researching, mentoring, and future visioning - we are committed to our mission in all the many aspects of our outreach including and beyond traveling programs and exhibits.

  • With more than 300 program requests for 2025 and requests already flooding in for 2026, we will have to make some difficult decisions about where we can most efficiently use our resources to impact our communities in the most positive ways.

  • To be added to our contact list, please fill out this Program Request Form that will help us gather the information we need to effectively plan how and where we can offer programs and exhibits. Please stay tuned for more information about our planned offerings in 2026!

  • If you are applying for grants to support a program with us in 2026 please know that we are not in a position to confirm a program or commit to meeting grant requirements at this time.  We recommend that any grants applied for should be written for a general environmental education program/activity rather than naming “The Caterpillar Lab” specifically.

If you are currently inquiring about a program please know that you will be added to a contact list, but that we will likely not be able to actively work on a program schedule until 2026.  We will reach out to all who have filled out the above request form beginning in January 2026. Thank you for your interest and for your understanding as we complete our visioning and planning processes this fall and winter!
